The coolest breakfast shake ever
Ok, I know I’m not on my own when I say that sometimes I really struggle to get up in the morning. Nothing seems to motivate me, but now I’ve found something that really helps. A coffee and banana shake. This is an iced shake, and works better in the summer, but I like it at any time of the year.
Ingredients: 1 banana, 2 tbsp espresso (I prefer percolated coffee), 1 tbsp maple syrup (or sweetener, if like me you are watching your weight), 100-200ml milk (not skimmed - eugh!)
The really important bit: the banana needs to be peeled and then takes at least 2-3 hours to freeze. I prefer to do this overnight, for the best texture. Yes, I know this requires some forward planning, but it’s worth it trust me.
Take the peeled banana, and slice it into roughly 8 chunks. Then put the frozen & chopped banana, along with all the other ingredients into a blender, and blend thoroughly.
And that’s it. You won’t need anything else for breakfast. I advise playing with the quantities a little to get the right texture for your taste. Sometimes, I need a little more coffee than 2 tbsp!
